The Big Acoustic was started in December 2008 as an idea to enable local musicians and singers to perform in public. It embraces all styles of music and all levels of ability and experience. Many of its performers have played in the comfort of their front room for many years, but never had the opportunity to display their talents to the general public, others are quite new to the world of music performance but still have much to offer. The reputation of The Big Acoustic being a popular place to perform has spread, and more experienced musicians are coming in from outside the local area giving a real variety of musical styles and genres.
